HSBC plans leveraged buffered notes tied to Euro Stoxx, Russell, S&P

By Angela McDaniels

Tacoma, Wash., Sept. 30 – HSBC USA Inc. plans to price 0% leveraged buffered uncapped market participation securities due Oct. 30, 2019 linked to an equally weighted basket composed of the Euro Stoxx 50 index, the Russell 2000 index and the S&P 500 index, according to an FWP filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

If the basket return is greater than zero, the payout at maturity will be par plus at least 100% of the basket return. The exact upside participation rate will be set at pricing. Investors will receive par if the basket falls by 15% or less and will lose 1% for every 1% that the basket declines beyond 15%.

HSBC Securities (USA) Inc. is the underwriter.

The notes will price Oct. 27 and settle Oct. 30.

The Cusip number is 40433UBQ8.
