New Issue: Goldman Sachs prices $1.5 million 4.2% notes linked to Russell 2000, MSCI EAFE

Tacoma, Wash., Jan. 24 - Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. priced $1.5 million of 4.2% notes due Jan. 29, 2015 linked to the Russell 2000 index and the MSCI EAFE index, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Interest is payable monthly.

If the return of both indexes is greater than or equal to negative 15%, the payout at maturity will be par. Otherwise, the payout will be par minus 1.1765% for every 1% that the lesser performing index declines beyond 15%.

Goldman Sachs & Co. is the underwriter.
