Goldman Sachs to price buffered notes linked to MSCI EAFE, Russell

By Toni Weeks

San Diego, March 27 - Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. plans to price 0% buffered notes linked to a basket containing the MSCI EAFE index and the Russell 2000 index, equally weighted, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The notes are expected to mature 24 to 26 months after issue.

If the basket gains, the payout at maturity will be par plus the basket return, subject to a maximum payment of $1,240 to $1,280 per $1,000 principal amount. The exact maximum payment will be set at pricing.

Investors will receive par if the basket falls by up to 30% and will lose 1.4286% for every 1% decline beyond the 30% buffer.

The Cusip is 38143UU41.
