Barclays to price annual autocallable notes linked to Russell 2000

Madison, Wis., Jan. 7 - Barclays Bank plc plans to price 0% annual autocallable notes due Jan. 30, 2014 linked to the Russell 2000 index, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The notes will be automatically called at par plus a call premium of 8% to 12% per year if the index closes at or above the initial level on Feb. 1, 2012, Jan. 28, 2013 or Jan. 27, 2014.

If the notes are not called, the payout at maturity will be par if the final index level is at least 70% of the initial level. Otherwise, the payout will be par plus the index return.

The notes (Cusip: 06740PZY5) will price Jan. 26 and settle Jan. 31.
