HSBC plans buffered market participation notes on index, ETF basket

Olympia, Wash., Sept. 4 – HSBC USA Inc. plans to price 0% buffered accelerated market participation securities due Sept. 14, 2022 linked to a basket of the S&P 500 index with a 70% weight, the Russell 2000 index with a 15% weight and the iShares MSCI EAFE exchange-traded fund with a 15% weight.

The payout at maturity will be any basket gain up to a cap of 15%.

Investors will receive par if the basket falls by 15% or less and will lose 1% for every 1% that the basket declines beyond 15%.

HSBC Securities (USA) Inc. is the agent.

The notes will price on Sept. 9.

The Cusip number is 40438CVD0.
