RBC eyes trigger gears due 2020 linked to MSCI EAFE index

Chicago, Feb. 23 – Royal Bank of Canada plans to price trigger gears due Feb. 28, 2020 linked to the MSCI EAFE index, according to a FWP filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The payout at maturity will be par of $10 plus an upside payment of 1.35 to 1.45 times any index gain, with the exact upside gearing to be set at pricing.

Investors will receive par if the index falls by up to 85% and will be fully exposed to any losses if the index finishes below the 85% downside threshold.

UBS Financial Services Inc. and RBC Capital Markets, LLC are the agents.

The notes will price on Feb. 24 and settle on Feb. 28.

The Cusip number is 78014E364.
