By Toni Weeks

San Diego, May 3 - Royal Bank of Canada plans to price leveraged equity index-linked notes linked to the MSCI EAFE index via Goldman Sachs & Co., according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The notes are expected to have a maturity date of between 18 and 21 months.

The payout at maturity will be par plus triple any index gain, up to a maximum settlement amount of $1,240.00 to $1,277.50 per $1,000 principal amount. The exact maximum payment will be set at pricing.

Investors will be fully exposed to losses if the index declines.
