RBC to price protected notes linked to global index basket

New York, May 8 - Royal Bank of Canada plans to price 0% principal-protected senior notes due May 31, 2012 linked to equal weights of the S&P 500, Nikkei 225 and Dow Jones Euro Stoxx 50 indexes, according to a 424B5 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The notes will price on May 29 and settle on May 31.

Payout at maturity will be par plus 115% of any gain on the index basket on May 29, 2012, the final valuation date. Investors will receive at least par.

RBC Capital Markets Corp. will be the underwriter.
