Fitch ups, ends HSBC Bank Canada ratings

Fitch Ratings said it upgraded its ratings for HSBC Bank Canada and its senior unsecured notes to AA- from A and withdrew the ratings.

These actions follow the closing of Royal Bank of Canada's acquisition of HSBC Bank Canada on Thursday. Fitch rates RBC AA-.

The agency said it withdrew the ratings because HSBC Bank Canada no longer exists.
