Rohm & Haas stockholders to decide merger with Dow Chemical on Oct. 29

By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., Sept. 29 - Rohm & Haas Co. will hold a special meeting of stockholders at 10 a.m. ET on Oct. 29 in Philadelphia.

Stockholders of record as of Sept. 25 will be asked to approve the company's merger with Dow Chemical Co., according to a schedule 14A filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Rohm & Haas said its board of directors unanimously recommends that stockholders vote in favor of the merger agreement.

Dow Chemical, a diversified chemical company based in Midland, Mich., agreed in July to acquire Rohm & Haas, a Philadelphia-based specialty materials company, for $78 per share in cash, or approximately $15.2 billion.
