New Issue: Rogers Wireless $750 million 10-year notes yield 6 3/8%

St. Louis, Feb. 17 - Rogers Wireless Communications Inc. sold $750 million of 10-year senior secured notes (Ba3/BB+/BBB-) Tuesday at par to yield 6 3/8%, market sources said.
Price talk was in the area of 6 3/8%.
The underwriters of the Rule 144A issue were Citigroup, JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, Scotia Capital, CIBC World Markets, RBC Securities, TD Securities, Harris Nesbitt, SG Cowen and TMI.
The company intends to use about $734.7 million of proceeds to redeem the $196.1 million of its 8.30% senior secured notes due 2007, $179.1 million of its 8.80% senior subordinated notes due 2007 and $333.2 million of its 9 3/8% senior secured debentures due 2008, and for general corporate purposes.
The communications company is based in Toronto.
