Rockdale Resources sells $3 million of stock through private placement

Funds will be used to purchase leases, drill company's first oil wells

Knoxville, Tenn., July 2 - Rockdale Resources Corp. said it raised more than $3 million in a private placement of shares.

Proceeds will be used to purchase leases and to drill the company's first oil wells, according to a company news release.

The oil and gas explorer is based in Austin.
