Ritchie Multi-Strategy involuntary Chapter 11 case tossed by bankruptcy court

By Jennifer Lanning Drey

Portland, Ore., April 11 - Ritchie Multi-Strategy Global, LLC's involuntary Chapter 11 bankruptcy case was dismissed Friday by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois, according to an attorney.

As previously reported, the involuntary Chapter 11 case was filed on Dec. 26 by investors Benchmark Plus Partners, LLC, Benchmark Plus Institutional Partners, LLC and Sterling Low Volatility Fund QP.

On Jan. 14, Ritchie asked the court to dismiss the involuntary case.

In turn, the investors, who said they are owed $46 million, objected to the motion seeking dismissal.

Ritchie Multi-Strategy is a Lisle, Ill.-based hedge fund. Its Chapter 11 case number is 07-24236.
