Reunion Industries seeks four-month exclusivity extension

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, July 21 - Reunion Industries, Inc. requested an extension to its exclusive periods to file a plan of reorganization and solicit votes on the plan, according to a Monday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Connecticut.

The company wants to extend its exclusive plan-filing period to Nov. 20 from July 23 and the solicitation period to Jan. 19 from Sept. 21.

According to the motion, the company's cases have been complex and it has been focusing on completing its asset sale and negotiating a crucial secured claims-related settlement.

Reunion Industries, a Pittsburgh-based manufacturer of metal and plastic products, filed for bankruptcy on Nov. 29, 2007. Its Chapter 11 case number is 07-50727.
