Reunion operating loss slips to $228,000 in April, net income jumps to $41.39 million

Pittsburgh, May 29 - Reunion Industries, Inc. posted a $228,000 operating loss for April on $2.68 million in net sales, according to its monthly operating report filed Wednesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Connecticut.

The figures showed a decline over the $569,000 operating profit reported in March on $4.54 million in net sales.

However, the net income for April was $41.39 million, a significant improvement from a $238,000 March net loss.

Cash and cash equivalents on April 30 were $51.45 million, compared with $393,000 at the end of March.

Reunion, a Pittsburgh-based manufacturer of metal and plastic products, filed for bankruptcy on Nov. 29, 2007. Its Chapter 11 case number is 07-50727.
