Respect Your Universe seals $2.13 million private placement of shares

Company offers restricted common shares at a 37.5% discount to market

Knoxville, Tenn., Aug. 10 - Respect Your Universe, Inc. raised $2.13 million in a private placement of stock on Aug. 5, according to an 8-K filed Wednesday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The company sold 2,132,607 restricted common shares at $1.00 apiece. The per-share price represents a 37.5% discount to the Aug. 4 closing share price of $1.60.

The apparel retailer is based in Las Vegas.
