ATA Holdings asks court to extend exclusivity to June 23

By Jeff Pines

Washington, Jan 20 - ATA Holdings Corp. said it will not be able to file a reorganization plan by its Feb. 23 deadline and wants the court to extend its exclusive right to file a plan to June 23.

ATA, the parent of ATA Airlines, filed its request with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Indiana on Thursday.

The company said it has been examining all the facets of its operations and needs more time to determine the best way to give creditors the greatest possible recovery.

Indianapolis-based ATA filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 26. Its Chapter 11 case number is 04-19866.
