Republic Airways operating income increases to $17 million in August

Pittsburgh, Sept. 21 – Republic Airways Holdings, Inc. reported $17 million of operating income for August on $98.4 million in total operating revenue, according to its monthly operating report filed Wednesday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

In comparison, the company posted $14.9 million of operating income for July on $96.4 million in total operating revenue.

The net loss for August was $177.1 million, declining significantly from $300,000 of July net income. The August net loss included $283.1 million of reorganization items.

In addition, Republic had $155.4 million in cash and cash equivalents as of Aug. 31, up from $138 million at the end of July.

Based in Indianapolis, Republic Airways is a passenger and air freight service company. It filed for bankruptcy on Feb. 25, 2016 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York under Chapter 11 case number 16-10429.
