Mandarin increases stake in Regis Corp.

Charlotte, N.C., Feb. 8 - Mandarin, Inc. continued to add to its stake in Regis Corp. with the purchase of 286,000 shares of Regis stock on Thursday at an average price of $42.6895 per share.

Since Dec. 14, Mandarin has purchased slightly less than 1 million shares of Regis stock at an average price of between $39.2507 and $42.9694 per share, according to a schedule 13D filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The international business corporation now owns more than 2.3 million shares, or 5.1% of Regis' outstanding shares.

Mandarin and Joseph Lewis, an additional reporting person, "will continue to review its investment in the company and may determine, based on the market and general economic conditions, the business affairs and financial condition of the company, the market price of its shares and other factors deemed relevant by Mandarin, to acquire or dispose of additional shares," according to the filing,

The investment is under review and Mandarin did not indicate plans to become an activist at this time.

Regis, based in Minneapolis, owns and operates hair and retail product salons and beauty career schools.
