By Devika Patel

Knoxville, Tenn., June 29 – Real Goods Solar, Inc. received a subpoena from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on June 29, according to an 8-K filed Monday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The subpoena requests that the company produce documents, records and information relating to its July 9, 2014 $7.01 million private placement of stock. Four of the investors from that offering are accusing the company of misrepresentations and omission in connection with the sale in three separate lawsuits.

The solar energy company is based in Louisville, Colo.
