Aston Hill to manage Aston Hill VIP Income Fund, Aston Hill AVIP Trust

Minneapolis, Aug. 22 - Aston Hill Asset Management Inc. announced that it will assume responsibility for portfolio management of the Aston Hill VIP Income Fund and Aston Hill AVIP Trust by Nov. 20, according to a press release. Manulife Asset Management currently manages both portfolios.

Andrew L.B. Hamlin and Vivian Lo, portfolio managers at Aston Hill, will become the co-lead portfolio managers of the funds. Hamlin and Lo are currently the co-lead portfolio managers on the Aston Hill Growth & Income Fund.

The Aston Hill VIP Income Fund seeks a high level of monthly distributions and capital appreciation by investing in a diversified portfolio of income-producing securities, including dividend-paying equities and fixed-income securities.

The Aston Hill AVIP Trust seeks a high level of income by investing in a diversified portfolio of income-producing securities, including dividend-paying common shares, convertible debt, preferred shares and investment-grade and high-yield debt.

As of Aug. 21, the total net asset value of Aston Hill VIP Income Fund and Aston Hill AVIP Trust is C$330 million and C$135 million, respectively.

Aston Hill is a Calgary, Alta.-based investment manager.
