RBS hires Victor Forte as managing director, head of high-grade bonds

By Devika Patel

Knoxville, Tenn., June 17 - RBS Global Banking & Markets announced that Victor A. Forte has joined the firm as a managing director and head of the high-grade bond syndicate for the Americas.

Forte will be based in Stamford, Conn., and will report to the global head of syndicate for RBS David Bassett.

Forte previously worked at Barclays Capital, where he was a managing director. Prior to that, he worked at Lehman Brothers for 17 years, where he was head of U.S. debt syndication for six of those years.

At Lehman Brothers, Forte was responsible for the execution of debt, preferred stock and asset-backed securities, as well as the issuance and trading of commercial paper. While at Lehman Brothers he was also co-chairman of the high-grade credit committee and senior member of the high-grade loan committee. During his tenure, the firm was a consistently top ranked commercial paper dealer and was a top ranked investment bank by market share for domestic corporate bonds.

Forte has a bachelor's degree in economics from Yale University.

"We have recently executed a broad range of new issues and are seeing increased deal flow volumes, so having a strong syndication capability is especially vital," Bassett said in a press release.

"Victor brings significant experience and expertise across investment-grade bond products. As the latest high-caliber addition to our team, he will strengthen our ability to deliver the full range of fixed income products to our core client base."

With headquarters in Edinburgh, Scotland, RBS is a banking and financial services company.
