Raytheon files $2 billion shelf

New York, May 5 - Raytheon Co. registered to sell up to $2 billion of securities in an S-3 shelf filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Covered by the shelf are debt securities, common stock, preferred stock and warrants. Securities may be sold in combination as units or structured as convertibles.

Raytheon, a Waltham, Mass., defense contractor, will use proceeds for general corporate purposes.
