Raytheon Aircraft plans new credit facility for purchase by Onex, GS Capital
By Sara Rosenberg
New York, Dec. 21 - Raytheon Aircraft Co. is planning on getting a new credit facility to help fund its acquisition by Hawker Beechcraft Corp., a company newly formed by Onex Corp. and GS Capital Partners, according to a market source.
Goldman Sachs will be involved in the new credit facility, but whether they are the left lead on the deal was unclear prior to press time.
Under the transaction agreement, Hawker is buying Raytheon Aircraft from Raytheon Corp. for $3.3 billion.
The equity investment of $1.06 billion will be split equally between Onex and GS Capital Partners, with Onex's share of the investment to be made by Onex Partners.
The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals and closing is anticipated in the first half of 2007.
Raytheon Aircraft is a Wichita, Kan., manufacturer of business jet, turboprop, piston aircraft and military training aircraft.
