Ravelston stay period, claims bar date extended

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Nov. 28 - The Ravelston Corp. Ltd. and Ravelston Management, Inc.'s receiver RSM Richter, Inc. obtained an extension to the company's stay period in its Companies Creditors' Arrangement Act restructuring to allow more time to process claims against the company, according to a Wednesday filing with the Ontario Superior Court of Justice.

The company's stay period was extended to March 17 from Jan. 18.

The claims bar date, by which creditors must file their proofs of claim, was also extended, to Feb. 16 from Dec. 15.

Ravelston, the Toronto-based parent of media company Hollinger Inc., filed for protection under the Companies Creditors' Arrangement Act on April 20, 2005.
