Railpower Hybrid Technologies looks to change name to RHTC Liquidating

Pittsburgh, July 21 - Railpower Hybrid Technologies Corp. requested court approval to change its name to RHTC Liquidating Co. to comply with its asset sale agreement, according to a Monday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.

Under the asset sale agreement, the rights to the Railpower name were transferred to purchaser R.J. Corman.

Railpower Hybrid Technologies is a U.S. subsidiary of Railpower Technologies Corp. They filed for Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act protection in the Quebec Superior Court on Feb. 4, and Railpower's court-appointed monitor made a Chapter 15 bankruptcy filing for the company on Feb. 5.

Based in Toronto, Railpower produces energy technology systems for the transportation sector. The Chapter 15 case number is 09-10198.
