RadioShack committee OK to employ Whiteford Taylor as local counsel

New York, April 14 – RadioShack Corp.’s official committee of unsecured creditors received permission to hire Whiteford, Taylor & Preston LLC as its local counsel in Delaware under a Monday order from the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.
The hiring is retroactive to Feb. 13.
As previously reported, Whiteford will assist the committee and its other legal representatives in reviewing document drafts, attending court proceedings and negotiations on behalf of the committee and providing administrative support as needed, according to the motion.
The committee also received authorization to hire Cooley LLP as its lead counsel on March 24.
Whiteford attorneys will be paid an hourly rate between $235 and $515.
RadioShack is a Fort Worth, Texas-based technology retailer that filed for bankruptcy on Feb. 5. Its Chapter 11 case number is 15-10197.
