RadioShack creditor committee OK’d to hire Cooley as legal counsel

New York, March 24 – RadioShack Corp.’s official committee of unsecured creditors received authorization to hire Cooley LLP as legal counsel under a March 24 order from the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.
The hiring is retroactive to Feb. 13.
As previously reported, Cooley will assist the committee in its investigation of RadioShack’s financial condition, oversee the company’s sale activity and claims reconciliation process, advise the committee on its powers in the bankruptcy case and attend meetings and court proceedings as necessary.
Attorneys associated with the case will be paid an hourly rate between $470 and $1,050, according to the motion.
RadioShack is a Fort Worth, Texas-based technology retailer that filed for bankruptcy on Feb. 5. Its Chapter 11 case number is 15-10197.
