Moody's may downgrade securities insured by FSA, Assured Guaranty

Moody's Investors Service said it placed the insurance financial strength ratings of Financial Security Assurance Inc., Assured Guaranty Corp. and their subsidiaries on review for possible downgrade.

The agency concurrently placed on review all securities that are guaranteed by the insurers, except those with higher public underlying ratings.

Moody's cited elevated risks in the market and the companies' portfolios. FSA is currently rated Aaa by Moody's, and Assured is rated Aa2.
