Putnam Global Utilities Fund appoints Gianarikas as portfolio manager

San Diego, Jan. 23 - The Putnam Global Utilities Fund announced in a 497 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission that it has appointed George Gianarikas as the fund's sole portfolio manager.

An analyst since 2009 with Putnam Investment Management, LLC, the fund's Boston-based investment adviser, Gianarikas began managing the fund in January 2012. Prior to Putnam, he was a global industry analyst with Wellington Management Co. from 2007 to 2008 and an equity analyst with RiverSource Investments from 2003 to 2007.

Michael Yogg, portfolio manager of the fund since 2000, is no longer managing the fund.
