Fitch affirms Xcel Energy

Fitch Ratings said it affirmed Xcel Energy Inc.'s issuer default rating at BBB+ and its subsidiaries Northern States Power - Minnesota's issuer default rating at A-, Northern States Power - Wisconsin's issuer default rating at A-, Public Service Co. of Colorado's issuer default rating at BBB+ and Southwestern Public Service Co's issuer default rating at BBB.

The outlook is stable.

The affirmation of Xcel's issuer default rating recognizes the strong underlying cash flow and performance of Minnesota and Colorado, the agency said.

The outlook is based on Fitch's expectation that the company will continue to focus on core utility operations, complete major utility capital spending projects within budget and receive continued regulatory support, according to the agency.
