Fitch affirms Prudential

Fitch Ratings said it affirmed Prudential plc’s A long-term issuer default rating and the insurer financial strength ratings of its operating subsidiaries at AA-.

The outlooks are stable.

After Prudential's March announcement that it plans to separate its UK & European business (M&G Prudential) from the rest of the group, Fitch said it now rates Prudential Assurance Co. Ltd. (PAC) and Prudential's U.S. subsidiaries (collectively Jackson) separately, whereas previously the two were rated by applying a group insurer financial strength rating approach based on the consolidated profile of Prudential's global insurance operations.
