Prospect Capital files $750 million shelf for preferreds, stock, debt

Knoxville, Tenn., Nov. 19 - Prospect Capital Corp. filed a $750 million shelf registration in an N-2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The registration covers common stock, preferred stock, debt securities and warrants.

The securities may be structured as convertibles.

Proceeds will be used to maintain balance sheet liquidity, involving debt repayment under the company's credit facility, for investments in high-quality short-term debt instruments and to make long-term investments in accordance with the company's investment objective.

Prospect Capital is a New York venture capital and private equity firm.
