S&P rates Prospect Capital notes BBB-

S&P said it assigned its BBB- debt rating to Prospect Capital Corp.'s (PSEC) upcoming sale of $300 million in senior unsecured notes due 2028.

PSEC expects to use the proceeds primarily for the refinancing indebtedness, including but not limited to the repayment of borrowings under its revolving credit facility, which had about $357 million outstanding as of June 30.

“We view this transaction as leverage neutral,” S&P said in a press release.
