S&P raises Professionals Direct

Standard & Poor's said it raised its counterparty credit and financial strength ratings on Professionals Direct Insurance Co. to A- from BBB.

The outlook is stable.

"We raised the rating because of the strong explicit support provided by Professionals Direct's parent, Hanover Insurance Co., in the form of a 100% reinsurance agreement," explained S&P credit analyst John Iten.
