Moody’s rates Principal notes Baa1

Moody’s Investors Service said it assigned a Baa1 senior unsecured debt rating to the 10-year senior notes to be issued by Principal Financial Group, Inc.

The notes will be guaranteed by Principal Financial Services, Inc., PFG’s intermediate holding company.

Proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes.

The outlook for PFG and its affiliates is stable.
