Fitch puts Principal Financial on watch

Fitch Ratings said it placed the A issuer default rating of Principal Financial Group, Inc. on Rating Watch negative.

The action follows the company's announcement that that it plans to acquire AFP Cuprum SA for $1.5 billion, according to the agency.
