Accentia looks to extend exclusive plan-filing period to Jan. 22

Charlotte, N.C., Jan. 8 - Accentia Biopharmaceuticals, Inc. wants to extend its exclusive right to file a plan of reorganization to Jan. 22 from Jan. 8, according to a Friday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida.

Specifically, the exclusive plan-filing period would be extended to Jan. 22 from Jan. 8, and the solicitation period would be extended to March 31 if the plan is filed by Jan. 22.

Accentia, a biopharmaceutical company based in Tampa, Fla., filed for bankruptcy on Nov. 10, 2008. Its Chapter 11 case number is 08-17795.
