Moody’s assigns A2 to Praxair notes

Moody's Investors Service said it assigned an A2 rating to €500 million senior unsecured notes due 2025 of Praxair, Inc.

The outlook is stable.

Proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes, which may include repayment of commercial paper and share repurchases.

"We expect Praxair's credit metrics to improve in 2015 to levels that support the rating despite economic uncertainty," Moody’s senior vice president John Rogers said in a news release. "Currently, metrics are stressed due to slow economic growth, heavy capital spending, and on-going share repurchases.”
