Moody's rates Praxair notes A2

Moody's Investors Service said it assigned an A2 rating to the senior unsecured three-year and 10-year notes of Praxair, Inc.

Proceeds from the notes will be used to repay commercial paper borrowings and for general corporate purposes, which will include acquisitions and share repurchases.

The outlook is stable.

"Praxair's credit metrics will weaken as a result of the acquisition, continued heavy capital spending, and on-going share repurchases in 2013, but should recover by the end of 2014," Moody's senior vice president John Rogers said in a news release.
