Fitch rates Potomac Electric bonds A

Fitch Ratings said it assigned an A rating to Potomac Electric Power Co.'s (Pepco) offering of first mortgage bonds.

The rating is aligned with those on Pepco’s outstanding senior secured notes.

Pepco will use the proceeds to refinance its $400 million of first mortgage bonds, 3.6% series due March 15, and $96 million of commercial paper as of Feb. 16.

The outlook is stable.
