Clearwater Paper to begin trading Wednesday

Charlotte, N.C., Dec. 16 - Potlatch Corp. completed the tax-free spinoff of its pulp-based businesses into a publicly traded company called Clearwater Paper Corp.

Shares of Clearwater Paper were expected to begin regular-way trading on Wednesday on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "CLW," a company news release said.

To complete the spinoff, Potlatch distributed one share of Clearwater Paper common stock for every 3.5 shares of Potlatch stock held by Potlatch stockholders as of Dec. 9.

Gordon L. Jones is Clearwater Paper's president and chief executive officer.

Potlatch is a Spokane, Wash.-based real estate investment trust that owns and manages timberlands. Clearwater Paper is a pulp-based manufacturing company and is also based in Spokane.
