New York, June 16 - Popular, Inc. filed an automatic shelf registration in an S-3ASR with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Covered by the shelf are senior debt securities, subordinated debt securities, preferred stock, common stock, trust preferred securities, warrants, purchase contracts, depositary shares and units. Securities may be structured as convertibles.

Based in Hato Rey, Puerto Rico, Popular is a bank holding company.
