PNC files automatic shelf registration for debt, preferreds and stock

Knoxville, Tenn., Dec. 19 - PNC Financial Services Group Inc. and PNC Funding Corp. jointly filed an automatic shelf registration in an S-3 ASR filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The registration covers debt securities, common stock, preferred stock, depositary shares, purchase contracts, units, warrants and guarantees to be offered by PNC Financial, along with debt securities and warrants, which will be issued by PNC Funding.

The securities may be structured as convertibles.

Proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes.

The financial services companies are based in Pittsburgh.
