Moody's: PNC Financial stable

Moody's Investors Service said it changed the outlook of PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. and its subsidiaries to stable from positive.

The holding company is rated A3 for senior debt and the lead bank has a standalone bank financial strength rating/baseline credit assessment of C+/A2.

The bank's long-term deposit rating is A2 and its short-term deposit rating is Prime-1.

The outlook change reflects PNC's profitability and capital challenges in relation to its rating.

Moody's said that in its view, PNC faces significant hurdles in achieving a level of profitability commensurate with a higher rating.
