S&P: PNC unchanged

Standard & Poor's said its ratings on PNC Financial Services Group Inc. (A/stable/A-1) and its principal banking subsidiary, PNC Bank NA, are not affected by PNC's good second-quarter results, given the current operating environment.

The agency expects PNC's asset quality to continue to stabilize gradually and earnings to continue to benefit from deposit and loan repricing, offsetting the pressures on revenue from weak loan demand.

S&P said it does not believe pending legislation will affect PNC's future revenue generation materially.
