Pioneer veteran Mulrenan to assist Acheson with Independence Fund

San Diego, Jan. 3 - The Pioneer Independence Fund announced it has added Timothy Mulrenan as a portfolio manager of the fund, according to a 497 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Mulrenan joins Andrew Acheson, who has managed the fund since 2001.

Mulrenan joined the fund's investment adviser, Boston-based Pioneer Investment Management, Inc., in 1997 and has managed portfolios since 1998. He is a vice president at Pioneer.
