Pimco Funds modify investment techniques for four series of funds

By Toni Weeks

San Diego, March 6 - Pimco Funds modified the investment techniques for several series of its funds, according to a 497 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Effective immediately, each fund, except for the Pimco Government Money Market and Pimco Treasury Money Market funds, that are included in a relevant series may invest in specific money market funds and/or short-term bond funds, referred to as central funds, to the extent permitted by the 1940 Act.

These central funds are registered investment companies created for use solely by the Pimco Variable Insurance Trust, Pimco ETF Trust, Pimco Equity Series and Pimco Equity Series VIT in connection with their cash management activities.

Pimco Funds are based in Boston.
