By Toni Weeks

San Luis Obispo, Calif., Sept. 20 - The Pimco Emerging Markets Corporate Bond Fund has named Michael Gomez portfolio manager to the fund, effective immediately, according to a 497 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Gomez is a managing director at Pimco and has been a member of the emerging markets team since 2003. Prior to that, he was employed by Goldman Sachs, where he was responsible for the proprietary trading of bonds issued by Latin American countries.

Brigitte Posch is no longer the portfolio manager to the fund.

Newport Beach, Calif.-based Pimco serves as the investment adviser to the fund.
