Pimco Emerging Markets Bond Fund names Gomez sole portfolio manager

By Toni Weeks

San Luis Obispo, Calif., April 11 - Pimco Funds announced that Michael A. Gomez will be the sole portfolio manager of the Pimco Emerging Markets Bond Fund, according to a 497 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Ramin Toloui is no longer a portfolio manager of the fund.

The fund seeks maximum total return, consistent with preservation of capital and prudent investment management. Under normal circumstances, it invests at least 80% of its assets in fixed-income instruments that are economically tied to emerging market countries.

Newport Beach, Calif.-based Pacific Investment Management Co. LLC, or Pimco, is the investment adviser to the fund.
